best way to clean wheels, windshield (was: couple of questions)
soo I was washing my car the other day.. and I had a difficult time cleaning my rims. I was wondering if there were any tools that would make it easier. I can't clean around the lug nuts and there is brake dust that won't remove all the way. I use that eagle one rim cleaner. it works pretty well but it still didn't remove a couple of things.
another questio is if you scrapped up your rim. are there any methods to make it less noticceable. like polish or something?
another question.. what is the best thing to use to clean windows.
another question none related to cleaning. my clutch seems to be makin a clickin noise. I don't know if its normal. but its wheb I press down on my clutch not in gear aand jusr in neutral. and I release the clutch again. it makes a clickin noise.
an the last question is.. my rear brakes are makin squeeling noise when I reverse or roll down a hill. its only been two months since I've had my car. also while driving. I press down on my brakes.. theres a scratching type noise that my reafr brakes make. its not really a scratching noise. but more like the brakes are compressing but they aren't gripping very well. not sure how to describe the noise.
and another question.. really the last one now. does removing the front support frame. the bumper. void warranty?
thanks for reading

1)most of the stuff on rims is brake dust-so brake cleaner works best. Just be sure to test a small area by spraying a bit on a rag and gently rubbing. If the dust and no paint come off, you're ok. I've actually been doing this for years and have had no problems.2) tools-check your auto parts store for one of the foam ball wheel cleaners-they attach to an electric drill. Mequires and Mother brand stuff is usually the best-as usual read the instructions and use their cleaning compounds.3)Windex is probably the best-don't buy a cheap imitation though. 4) clutch noise like that is almost always the throwout bearing rattling.Beside my wrx I have a jeep that's been making a noise like that for almost 8 yrs-all original still.Brakes in reverse are operating in a direction they do about .001% of their life. The pads and rotors are operating in an 'unnatural' way for them-probably no problem. The front support frame does little but if the dealer can hang something on you he might-like radiator loose. If you do want to lose it use a lighter replacement piece from someone like Cusco.

use a paint brush for cleaning your rims. Just make sure its soft bristles and it will help you alot. for the tight spaces, use a smaller paint brush.
??? i have to scrub some of the dust brake dust off. im not so sure a paint brush.. will allow me to even scrub anything =l im not dustin off regular dust.

As long as the clutch is working smoothly and free of slip don't worry about it.If the noise gets louder you may need to replace a throwout bearing. If you do have to, think about replacing the clutch(if it's like 80% worn) as the labor will only be a bit more. The brakes same sort of answer, but try going out and really stomping the hell out of them 2 or three times(don't come to a complete stop) just accelerate back to 60+ and 30 seconds later repeat. Drive for a minute or more and pull over somewhere appropriate then try them in reverse again. See how it sounds. One of the things I like to do is take it to the dealer for an oil change-they're gonna make a few bucks there, and ask casually if they could kinda check out those sounds. You probably won't get charged anything for that, and if they've got a decent reputation you'll probably get an honest answer. Even if they tell you it needs something you can still get a second opinion.

damn REPLACE MY CLUTCH??? ****.. hella cash.. =l is that wat it could be?? its okay. i only hear it now and then. but damn... its the clutch goin bad already???? ive only had the car for 2k miles
Slow dooooooooooooown, and read previous post twice, breathe deeply. Just kidding-your clutch is probably fine. What I meant was if they needed to make major efforts to get at your throw out bearing (or whatever may be causing a noise) and they FOUND AT THAT TIME the clutch friction surfaces were well worn you'd save money doing everything just once. I also keep trying to say there is a way good chance NOTHING IS WRONG. Just relax. You provided so little info on the car and mileage and history that all that can be said are very broad generalizations.think about the suggestion to drop into the dealer, ok?

For your wheels, mix a half and half mix of armorall wheel cleaner and CLR. Spray it on and wait about a minute and pressure wash it off. Wheels should be pretty clean after that. I use that after my track days to get the hot dust off.
Windows, try 70% vinegar and 30% water. It is streakless. It is also safe to use on interiors too.
As for scrapes, you can get the paint from wurth spray paint. You'll have to sand and use body filler, but if done right, you'll never know.
