1999 2.5rs suggestions on mods?
hey
here is what i would do in order....
1 new super high performance tires. #1 best mod for any subaru (if not alreadly done)
1.5 if you can afford it, get 17 rims and better tires. looks AND handling...
2 20 mm rear sway bar- second best upgrade handling wise, and fairly cheap
3 rear sway bar links. also improves handling
4 eibach or prodrive spings. more handling....
5 kyb or prodrive shocks, again handling
that is the easy stuff. motor wise, you can go hog wild on NA upgrades, but personally, it is alot of $$ for little in results. if you really MUST do engine mods...check out cobb tuings web site. they have done a number of NA mods from mild to wild, and in stages if you want.
the bog power is when you put on a turbo, or better yet, swap a smog legal wrx or sti motor into your rs. the extra power really wakes up the older chassis. the older cars handle MUCH better than the wrx, they just lack power. it is a costly endevor, ut wel worth it when done right. there are many shops and a aftermarket manufacturers who make kits for the rs. i suggest a search or checking out the 2.5 engine forums. rs25.com is a great site as well for info.
others i am sure will have different opinions, but that is how i did it, and how i would do it again.

Hey,
1. better tires(ex. BFG KDWS, Bridgestone RE950, etc)
2. 20mm rear sway bar
3. Struts/springs(KYB,Eibach,Bilstein/Prodrive,Eibach)
4. CAI Cobb or Ganz
5. Stromung SS, Brullen, Borla, Greddy,etc(cat-back)
6. Stromung SS, Random Tech, etc(hi-flow cat)
7. Cobb, TWE, Borla, Brullen,etc(headers)
8. Lt. weight pulley(Mr. Josh, etc)
It adds up quickly and ~3-5k easily
