Set it straight
Ok, so the 06 is much faster than previous models, and it does brake much better as well. My stock 06 (when it was stock) was just as fast or even a bit faster than a stage 2 two liter catless - I was pulling the whole time. Now that i am stage two, i am faster than an STi. I have no idea about the gearing on the 06's, but i would love to hear about it. As far as I KNEW, there weren't any real changes...but please educate me. Anyway...yea I've driven previous year WRX's in the past and it just isn't the same when compared to the 06...its all about the torque. And spool up is QUICK

2.5 > 2.0 for torque
overall they are set up about the same from the factory, but with a tune the 06 will make more torque.
I have an 06 TR with a stage 2, GST tune, intake and STi intercooler and it is putting down more torque and about 10 less hp that a stock STi.
you can't get those numbers with the 2.0 with just exhaust and tune.

with a stage 2 and tune the 06 will have about 10 less hp and about 15-20 more torque. add a 20g and your at 300whp/320ft/lb. and you dont have to change the injectors on the 06, unlike the 05

Road and track had the 02-05 running 14.9 or 15 in the quarter when i saw it. the recent tests of the 06-07 are 14.2 in the quarter. the 14.2 is guaranteed. I have the magazine right in front of me.
