A few off the top of my head...

-New bolt pattern on the wheels (5x114.3 for the '05 and 5x100 for every other Subaru except the 4 bolt patterns).
-Small rear fender flares
-New color (crystal grey)
-Cherry Blossom Red (the STi color) is now more Red, less Pink
-Subaru logo instead of Momo on steering wheel

true... there is a small momo indentation at the bottom...
wow... i hate the 05 steering wheel.
the interior fabric is slightly different. the door panel fabric is slightly more loose.
the seats are the same but have a corduroy feel on the bolsters
the rubber is the same(on larger rim) and makes the tires look more beefy.(the sidewalls are not flat like the 04)

the shifter **** has a nice clear laminate with 1-6 and R laid out nicely.
the stereo systems went to panasonic(versus mcintosh)

the e-brake is relocated to other side
the dccd manual/auto switch and dialler are in the same spot versus being in 2 different locations.

i have a feeling that the squeeky pad issue has been resolved... not sure though.
i'm waiting for my clients to call me to let me know if they have it...

thats all i have for right now.

I've already wasted money on the Whiteline Steering Rack bushings. I ordered them before I found out that the 05 is factory upgraded.

Yeah, the 04 steering bushings don't fit the 05. As to springs, 05 looks to be almost same as before http://www.imprezawrxsti.com/postnuk...wtopic&t=13214

But maybe the new 05 struts are better suited for them? They're supposed to be retuned for better handling and also black instead of red.
