AWD has been here since I've been around (noob) but he hasn't represented a cheeze dick once! So that's good enough for me to second the nomination.
I've been a mod before.. Serving a sentence on another board ATM actually.. It's not so much fun. It's that power = responsibillity stuff that makes it all so boring.

I withdraw any nomination for Gordon.. While we were all no-doubt proud of his abillity to drive a car while pisstanked, his new gas tax sucks!
Why can't they find another way to pay for the olympics? Can't they tax the industries that will directly profit the most? I don't think gas consumers are going to see the most direct revenue from the olympics. I think Gordo was drunk when he made that call..
Seriously... I do like the idea of getting improved roads, but it's the commercial traffic that does the most dammage to our roads and makes the most financial gains from our roads. Why not tax commercial gas and diesel before consumer level petrol products?
Or even localize the fundraising for road improvements.. A stretch of highway sucks? Put in a toll booth that collects the money needed for improvements from the people using that road. Heck there are corporations that have done studies and made offers to build private roadways and bridges, with their payment coming from toll collection. If that's feasible for a private company why can't our government step up to the plate?
I guess the gas tax makes a certain vocal sub-section of our populace very happy. They can sit on the bus getting their 3rd flu of the week, eating granola, and listening to the handicapped person beside them discuss peeing the bed, knowing that they are saving the universe, one tree at a time.
