question about offset

i went to a wheel shop yesterday .... and want to order set of rim...

those ppl said.. they will order me a set of rim with offset 43... but i remeber our impreza with offset 48+

then my friend told me... impreza stock rim are with offset 53...

so the min offset for impreza is 48??

i tried to shop for rim on internet.. and find out.. there are not much rim with offset 48+

how come...??

It's just that +53 is not common. I've read that +45 will work, but some rubbing issues, depending on your application. +47 seems to work most of the time. There are enough choices if you look around hard enough.

yeah..i found some Rota with offset 48 ... but need to order from Us... shipping the rim over... should be expensive then .. haha....

offset 45is ok too... let me check if there are rim with offset 45+ .... thx

You can get Rota's in town. Technik, etc.

An offset of 43 will work just fine! I have a set of Advan RG's 17x8.5 offset of 43. No rubbing what so ever! I'm also lowered by some Tein S.Techs with Yokohama AVS sports 225/45/17.

We have some very bumpy roads in Manitoba and still haven't rubbed!
