Canadian GC8 Front Bumper

Did all Canadian GC8's come with the ugly front bumper or did we get at least 1 year (any year) with a nice US Style bumper? I swear I saw a 4 door the other day with a US spec front bumper

....

Oh ya, what's needed for the conversion? Front bumper skin, rear bar, fog's? Subaruparts.com sells a conversion kit for $696.85 USD...can it be done cheaper (while still buying the parts new). Other than Subaruparts.com, where else sells the parts needed?

No, we never got the v5 style US bumper. Subaruparts or any dealer can order in the oem parts for you.

whats the different between the canadain and us spec bumber?
is it the fog light difference? or is there more to it than that?

The difference is cosmetics - MY98/Cnd GC model has smaller fog lights and a different design since it has a larger metal rebar behind the skin to pass Canadian crash standards. The US one looks just like the one in Japan.
