uhh why doesn't it have a dipstick??

seems like that could be a law suit for BMW since there is no way to check the oil levels, so if the motor blows up from lack of oil it's their fault... Just pop the fuse for the oil gauge right before you bring it in

It has an electronic sensor that tells you the oil levels... If it goes off and tells you the oil is low, you have to take it to the dealer, have them drain it, and measure it to see how much oil is missing... then THEY have to put in new oil.

Stupid. Based on that alone, I wouldn't buy a BMW. Way too much big brother going on.

They should have tried to get rid of the dipsticks behind the steering column, not the ones under the hood.

Meh....The 1 series is too small, and the shape is nowhere near as sexy as the 335...If I was spending that kind of dollar I would want a spacious luxury car that looks the business...I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder

i'm not trying to joke, but youre probably right. methinks a 1 series coupe is going to look awkwardly small in person. i'd rather have 3 series dimensions.
