Why is he supposed to return the car in stock condition? Trade-ins are valued for your car, as is. No where in the trade-in contract does it say you have to return the car in stock condition. The dealer safety inspects it and then sells it if they have deemed it fit to drive. Nor did the customer mis-represent the car, it obviously looks modded, and the dealer would have calculated that into their value, and safety inspections.

after I sold my old GSR, a few weeks later I got a notice from LA sherrifs that it had been stolen and recovered, the owner never transfered the title into his name, lol

My friend actually just told me the same exact story but with his 2003 M3... said that he never transferred it, so it still belonged to my friend, and that he could go pick it up at the Impound lot. Yes please!
