Where you getting them at? Valentines day pisses me off to no end because all the florists jack up the cost for roses to like $80/doz.

i say if you're getting flowers for your significant other on vday go with a bunch of other friends looking to buy flowers and hit up the nurseries at half moon bay. it's from the source, and you get to drive through the little twisties.

in all honesty, speaking from my own female opinion, flowers are nice on valentine's day but receiving them on a day other than valentine's day (out of the blue) would be even better. i know sounds repetitive, but it's true...oh, and another thing NO TEDDY BEARS!!!! just your company is all we really want.

You can get a dozen for like $30.00 @ the grocery store, yah yah I know they aren't the biggest or longest stems but it saves you at least $50 that could be used towards dinner and See's.

 

Flower is like drug on V-Day.

Unemploy = no flowers for my gf. But on the other hand my gf work at a flourist, so she is not insisting on flowers at all as she look at them all the time. We just going to have a nice dinner and stay home afterward.

 

eh, i guess i'll get the flowers...spend a grip at the flower market. it'll make her smile. but like WREXXY said, flowers out of the blue seem to make them smile and think you're sooo soo thoughtful.

i sound like a jerk . nah, i'm only fooling. i've got the flowers, dinner, Erykah Badu concert...hmm...OH and I'm gonna just make a card instead of buying the prefab Hallmark stuff which im pretty sure they're out of the good stuff since it's winding down.

Well, I don't have a gf which = no worries about gifts / spending $$ :banana: .... but I'm unemployed anyways so it doesn't make a difference, lol

Try costco. They have good prices on flowers. I lucked out this year...my gf is go to visit her aunt in LA on thrus. and wont be back til sunday.

 

dunno about ftd or 1800flowers. i've used them before and they sucked. i usually find a small floral shop and check their bouquets for quality by walking in there and talkign to the florist. if you're gonna drop $100+ on an arrangement, you might as well do it right.

you don't treat your S.O. half-***-like...why send her a half-*** bouquet?
