Are you allowed to do this?

This may be dumb to you guys but I was just wondering so yeah. I was thinking about the time I got pulled over by the Milpitas cops for doing nothing and the way I was treated, but are we allowed to bust out with a camcorder and record the time i'm being pulled over? I bought this really small digital camera that can record movies and such, which I always leave in my car and I was thinking about if I ever get pulled over again that i'd just take it out and start recording the whole thing and see how they'd act. Last time they searched my car and ended up just giving me a fix-it ticket for not having my front license plate. Am I allowed to do that? If not, how about a voice recorder? Cause its got that too.

You can do whatever the hell you want. They cannot stop you from recording it... unless you're getting arrested and are getting handcuffed.

I think its ok to record it as long as you tell them before you start recording.

I think they'd use excessive force and tell u some bs 2 make u scared. If you did have audio though and didn't tell them about it and ever wanted to use something like this in a court room, it wouldn't work. It'd be inadmissable cuz it was taken without consent of the person being taped. Blah blah. Try it once..who knows haha.

And then the dog ate it and buried it?

I don't think that would work either.

I'm sure that it's okay so long as your not reaching in the glovebox for it while he is aproaching your car (assuming it's nightime). I don't think cops like that

Yeah well I was asking just cause the dudes were searching my car and ended up giving me a fix-it ticket for just my front license plate. And the dude was all "Why are you really out here this late?" cause he was assuming I was out racing. eh it was on that one thread i made before. But yeah. If I ever get pulled over for some stupid reason again i'm going to bust out my cam and start recording the whole thing. If they're saying they're going to pull me over for just my front license plate then that better be it and not getting in my car and searching it.

They can't do anything if you record them... I would start checking out their squad car for illegal exhausts, missing front license plate, illegal tint, etc.. Ha! That would be great.
