well if you work in a x-ray environment or in a test facility, you want as much warnings before radiation poisoning kills you.

i guess that's what i want those rad badges for.

 

jeez I seriously hope a nuclear test facilities early warning system is something a bit better than a bunch of nuke-alert keychains!!

 

not in a nuclear power plant.

mostly in places where radiation is in small amounts but can build up to bad levels.

they are not alarms per se, but more of a like a photographic film. more and more exposure, like a leak, will turn the film black.

next time you visit your dentist, check out their rad badges when you get an x-ray...
