fast clay technique?

I only tried to clay my car once and it took my like an hour to do one panel and I ran out of time and had to leave......so I really need to go over my whole car and I probably need to buy a new clay bar too. I stuck it in a clean plastic zip lock but who knows...better safe than sorry.....how long should one of those little bars last?

Right now it looks like.
Gold class wash.
clay bar
gold class or zymol wax
s100 topper if I can find the paste. I have the spray now...it rips but it's more for little stuff and the quick job.

Need to condition all the rubber too.

I have the washmitt in one hand, and the claybar in the other.

spray, wipe down, rinse, wipe again (to get the paint sudsy) then rubrubrub with the clay, and rinse again. It all goes pretty fast. (lots faster than the old method I used with the detail spray)

interesting....yeah I just followed the direction....it's tough.

us first timers..it's scetchy rubbin something like that across your fragile stinking subaru paint. Freaked me the heck out...but honestly...before reading this thread...this morning I got out of my car and just happened to look back at the fender I did...I did it like a month plus ago...maybe two...you can still tell it's smoother than the rest of my car if you look at it....clay bar rips.

I was doing just clean....dry....spray with detail spray....rub rub...rub...wipe of with clean tshirt.....redo....etc...... literally took me an hour for one quarter panel.

Bah....

still need to use the Z1. Even so, its just a half-hour job to apply both coats.
