Yay! I got rear-ended!

I was driving home on the freeway in stop and go traffic when this ******* rear-ended me. His excuse was that he was talking on the cellphone and he was sorry and i shouldn't call the police. All that bull****.
The damages aren't even that bad it just sucks that they have to replace the ENTIRE bumper. Heres some pics

Anytime someone says please don't call the cops. Call the cops. They probably have something to hide. Sorry about the bumper. Mine got hit too. It doesnt look that bad. Can you polish it out or did it crease the plastic? You are looking at about $800-$1000 for a new bumper.

NEVER let some one off the hook. Make them pay for their inattention, otherwise you may have to pay for their mistake.

Best of luck getting the guy to pay up, especially if there is no police report.

That sucks. I definately would next time get a police report. It just adds shows that "authorit-ah" was shown what happened so if you do need to take him to court, it's your word + the officers vs his.

Maybe you can charge him for a new license plate holder too.

wow, I love peoples excuses. I would have asked him why being on the phone warrants him being let off the hook. He is exactly why they need to pass more restrictions on driving and talking.

That being said, hopefully everyone here knows that beginning Jan 1st (I believe it is) you'll need a hands free device to talk on the cell phone. Maybe I'll make a thread about that
