2pac was born and spent his early years on the east coast... came over and lived in the projects of Marin City. Started rappin there as MC New York for street cred.

Quannum Projects represents the bay area... Latyrx, Blackalicious, Maroons, Joyo Velarde. Lyrics Born grew up in the East Bay.

article on SF Weekly about Quannum:

article on SFBG on the "new yay" rap scene
http://www.sfbg.com/39/24/cover_post_2pac.html

Don't forget the Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, John Lee Hooker, Janis Joplin, Metallica as well.

tupac grew up and was raised in philly. i.e. he's a sellout for hating on the eastcoast.

don't forget the Living Legends: The Grouch, Mystik Journeymen, Eligh, etc.

Souls of Mischief - '93 Till Inifinty
Luniz - I got 5 on it
Mac Dre - Feelin' Myself[/QUOTE]

Do you listen to SmoothBeats? Souls of Mischief is awesome. Yukmouth and Thizz forever, that's all I have to say. Feelin' Myself is a bit overplayed though.

I'll start it with some of my all time favorite tracks,

Souls of Mischief - '93 Till Inifinty
Luniz - I got 5 on it
Mac Dre - Feelin' Myself
Santana - Black magic Woman

as for a question,

Is Tupac a bay area musician?
