yeah 92.7 used to have some really cool stuff late at night on the weekends. but aside from those few rare times, it was always the same songs over and over again. But it was definitely better than another rap station.

alright heres the story. i know this b/c i used to work at 92.7 party for about a year and a half as a van driver and street team coordinator.
the station went up for sale back in december. SBS (Spanish Broadcasting Systems) only really wanted the station to be around for a little while.the real deal was that they never wanted the station. the only reason it was even started was out of spite to clear channel (crazy long story). any how, in december Tri Point Media showed interest in 92.7 and offered twice (30 million) what SBS was wanted to begin with. Tri Point Media's financial advisors told them that it wasnt worth that much and backed out. Last thursday (week before) Tri Point decided to buy 92.7. it was a last minute thing and they had no programing ready for it. that is why you heard "2 PAC" radio from thursday afternoon to saturday afternoon. On saturday they got their act together and launched 92.7 Power. They are going to skip Wild 94.9 as competion (different demographic and slipping numbers) and go straight for KMEL. Dont expect much to happen for the first 3 months. They are not allowed to air any commercials for that time (FCC rules). Unlike 92.7 Party, i thnk that this new station is going to stay around longer than Party, especially if Wild 94.9 keeps going they way they are.

I listen to the Bear all the time... I started a thread about it not too long ago. Classic rock is ok too.Anyways, yeah... going to miss my dance/party music station. Too much rap and hip hop! I need a change! Hence, country and techno dance! We're getting a bit too many rock stations as well.

A cool station out of Canada that mixes in dance/euro music with the traditional pop/hiphop.
