just to make sure its not something else go to download.com and download malwarebytes anti-malware. Do a full scan and delete all the baddies it finds

If it didn't make me NOT want to visit the site due to slow loading time I wouldn't have blocked it.

Tell doubleclick to step their game up, they're costing both of you monies.

QFT-
I don't mind ads, what I mind is waiting for minutes on end looking at a little line at the bottom of my screen saying "waiting for (or Loading) ad.doubleclick.net"

That was enough in itself to get me to make something else my "homepage" and if I can't "fix" it- (I haven't tried the above mentioned suggestions yet, but I will) it could be enough to make me quit visiting the site entirely.

i hate the ad on the right of the screen with cars moving diagonally, it makes me think there are bugs running across the side of my screen!

yup. This basically stops your browser from making http requests for content from ad networks.

WAAAAAY speeds up browsing when combined with Google Chrome (Chrome has an enhanced javascript engine), since on some sites a large portion of the load time is javscript served ads
