I've seen cheaper ones... like $150, etc. I'm just not an audiophile and I don't know much about sound systems. My two goals are: play mp3s off of a CD, open up a DIN in my dash. I just wan't something to replace the stock beast.

I'm guessing if I can buy cheapy ones for $150, maybe I can get a used one that sells new in 200 to 300 range for about $150.

(I'd be great to get an solid state player that takes CF cards. Man, that would be the best. I'm figuring I could buy a little player and something to drive it... )

Heh, my car will never see that shizzit. Basically anything sort of memory media is OK (CF, SM, SonyMS, etc). Even so the ones that have built in slots are $$$. I was thinking of having a an amp and a line out from an MP3 portable.... i dunno... janky
