WRX Wagon Door Question
Hey folks,
I finally got a wrb door for my dented one, and I'm in the middle of installing it. The POS PO decided to install speakers and just wacked to **** the upper left and left side of the speaker hole in order to allow it to fit. Instead of trimming it to allow a larger diameter, he banged it to kingdom come. It looks like a ragged peeling flower petal.
Is there any way to combine the nice straight outer skin of my new door, with my old pristine inner portion without welding it?
I'm taking a break from the sun right now and thought it'd be wise to search/ask before taking **** apart. Thanks!

****! ***! ****! *****!
I took a quick look at the donor door and figured as much. What kinda macguyver materials should I use to minimize speaker rattle? I'm thinking shop rag and duct tape + the one screw.

Yeah... a lot of doors you can skin. But after talking to the body shop... someone backed in to my door... ours don't.
So basically... I'd cut it out if it's really bugging you. You can always cut a piece off your original door and weld it together... if you can't weld but CAN cut... I'd recommend cutting a piece off your old door. Then use that as a template. Cut the new door. Then put the new piece in. You can used all kinds of crap to get it to stick. Can get some gnarly epoxy to do it and cover it with some sound deadener or something.
But best way would be to weld it. A good sheet metal guy can knock that out in an hour.

what OneManArmy said, cut out bad part use that as a template, take template to a welding shop. It would take a short amount of time and probobly cheap too, here is my friends shop

Or cut out bad part and use as template, except cut new part a little bigger and use some sheet metal screws.
and you might as well do some sound deadening while you have it apart.
good luck

word... that second one would be the way to go if you're gonna do it yourself. Just make sure to use shallow screws and I would seal the seams with some silicone to avoid any rattle.

Guy cut the speaker cable anyways... so no speaker for now, I guess. Thanks for the input. Me thinks I shall wait til myne job starts and ye olde paycheque arrives. That way, I can get the door welded, slap some sound materials on and enjoy some peace and quiet.
Now to buy spray or use matting....hmm.

Use matting.
Yeah the welding is the way to go... The sheet metal screws would work find too as long as you sealed everything but you have to be pretty good with a wheel. Might be worth setting it up for larger speakers while you're in there.
