WRX vs BMW540 Series

Just wanted to know for personal Knowledge! Don't worry i don't plan on racing any i'm just curious. I would like to know if the WRX could take it in 0-60 and 1/4 mile. Well if anyone knows please share you wizdom!hehe.

Not likely

I have personal experience with this...

Dad has a 97 540i 6-speed... vs my WRX. True the 0-60 times are close... but the 540 has sooooo much torque that if the WRX launch is anything but perfect you will be screwed...

Don't even think about racing a new M3... it will get sad quickly...

LOL yea i dont plan on racing anyone Espcially a new M3, But yea i was wondering stock for stock race. Doesn't the 540i weigh a lot more than the WRX? So why would the launch have to be perfect?

Why does the launch have to be perfect? torque. 540 has a V8 with low end torque. That second or so when the WRX's turbo is spooling up, the V8 walks away...I've ridden in a 540i with a six speed and it is a very impressive luxury sedan.

Just don't **** with this 540i.... www.jimmy540i.com Anyways, yeah a WRX will probably beat a 540i from 0-70MPH. But at highways speeds, that thing will walk away from you pretty easily. You need at least a TXS STG.II to keep up with it.
