I see WRX's all over every magazine. From the Cosmo, to stuff, and every car magazine I have picked up in the last 3 months, and its getting worse.
Today i got my SCC magazine and there where like 4 articles that had to do with the WRX, not to mention the growing # of ads that feature a WRX. SCC even resorted to bagging on a Honda, (the new Acura TSX) and it was the last article. That would have never happened 3 months ago, especially not behind the project cars article.
At this rate be prepared to see more and more WRX's ridiculously fixed up with neon lights, tips, bondo and everything else you see on those ghetto a_s Hondas on the streets.
Is this bad? I think so. I got a Subaru to escape from all the ricers out there.
and please Feel free to kick me in the junk if I’m over reacting.

I was in kragen today and noticed a ricey orange WRX on the box for "driving lights". I looked closely at the picture, and there was just the stock fog lights. Is it just me, or is it stupid to put a car without the product on the packaging?

yes it is stupid
true for now. few more years later when the wrx used car market really opens up. more people could afford wrx (used).

a lot of ricers can't afford a wrx, which is good, but there will always be ricers for every vehicle out there

let's just all give in and rice the crap out of our cars.
Step 2) install watermellon shooter exhaust
Step 3) install ground effects but DON'T pain them, make sure they're sanded down and just finished with primer (because you're too dumb to consider having enough of a budget to actually get the job done right)
Step 4) When installing ground effects be sure to do a horrible job so that parts bow out and don't mesh with the lines of the car.
Step 5) Get really crappy but LOUD subwoofer, don't bother to install it correctly. Don't take care of any the mechanical rattles that happen when you have the volume up, ESPECIALLY the license plate (when the license plate rattles it shows that you're a real bad ***).
Step 6) Install annoying fake xenon headlights
Step 7) lower car by cutting springs
Step 8) install some sort of gauge pack that has no real function. Make sure the gauges are placed in a position so that they are visible to other drivers as they drive by.
Step 9) Change backlighting on instrument panel to be something really annoying like bright blue.
Step 10) buy new rims but for the real wheels only. They should be a 30% profile or lower. Your front rims are steel. You can't afford to buy new ones because your dumb *** doesn't understand that these low profile wheels dent easily.
Step 11) Install a really annoying alarm and jack the sensitivity all the way up so that it goes off at the drop of a pin.
Step 12) Install a tripple tiered aluminium rear wing.
Step 13) (this is a bonus step for the pro ricer) modify suspension so that you can achieve about a zillion degrees of negative camber (ideally you want all four wheels to be riding on the inside edges).
