You realize that air to water intercoolers are far more efficient than our air to air units right? They can cool to far lower temps, and work no mater what speed you are moving, even at idle.
I would kill to switch over to a A/W system, but man its $$$$ as ****! You figure with the electric lift pump(water)at a good 500 bucks, the supplemental tank for extra water at another $300, the intercooler and all the pipes and fittings(AN6) say... $1000, last you will want to toss a 3 core aluminum radiator in there with aluminum caps to keep the higher pressure in.

Did subaru ever use one stock? anyone know? i have this idea they did for a few years but not sure...
all i can say is the last time i saw an air/water i/c, it was in a JDM Celica GT4 front clip...tho i'm not sure if it was an ST165, 185 or 205. i actually think it was of those rare RC spec (Carlos Sainz??) ones too...i used to work for an engine importer back in the days
