There may not be much of a difference in rotors when it comes to using the cryo-treated ones. However, for the cost of a full set of Brembo blanks, you can basically run Centric Cryo-Treated Front Rotors and Centric Standard Rear Rotors.

I've run the Porterfield R4-S pads with the Brembo blanks as well as with the Centric Cryo-Treated fronts and standard rears. When I ran with the Brembo blanks I would from time-to-time get the squeaking sound when braking. With the Centric setup, I've really never had it occur (if it has, it hasn't been for long or very audibly if it does occur). For just the peace of mind of having a quiet braking setup, it's worth it to me to run the Cryo-Treated setup.

I got my Brembo blanks from Tire Rack basically one free, so I went with those with Stoptech SPs, Goodridge lines and I wasn't disappointed. No squealing in 2yrs with that setup. Night and day difference from stock.

Not really... I drive over 92 all the time. Like 30k a year status. I used porterfield r4s at the track. A lot of smoke but very little fade. Went through half a pad but whatever it took the abuse. Anything above that is going to be a hawk hp+ which sucks due to initial high torque bite they dust and squeel like crazy. Then there's hawk ht-10s which I run. They need heat and they eat rotors and dust beyond belief. But since I'm running a small wilwood kit it heats up so these pads can take a huge beating without any issue.

I did the Cryostop rotors before too and I couldn't tell any difference over the standard ones, but I sold the car long before I got to put a bunch of miles on them too.
Yes HPS is okay and if you get it for the right price it's fine. Although if you push your car hard, threshold braking is difficult to find and I tended to think I had more and got abs instead.

The cryos you can't tell if you're braking harder or not. It's just able to take heat abuse much better. That's it.

"for the centric line though 120 cryo treated...its basically a ctek with ecoating
if you upgrade to the 125 line its high carbon
better imo"

Not from me but I would just do what ever they say, they know the most about this.

I commute from santa cruz to foster city 5 days a week. Sometimes 17 sometimes 92.
28,000 miles a year not counting pleasure/oncall trips.

If you arent driving 20 miles over the speed limit on 17 then you need to be in the slow lane.

Lol

What a hell of a difference. I drive 100 miles a day to work and back. Now if feel like im going to get rear ended because it stops too quick. I find myself looking in the rear view and feathering the brakes while driving in traffic. You get used to it. The brakes are relatively quite, and the pads dont dust alot compared to Hawk.
Was worth the money. I purchased the kit from Rally Sport Direct and installed it myself. Hope this helps.

It pretty much ALL comes down to budget.

There is no other rotor I would recommend outside of the DBA's. But not everyone wants to drop that kind of coin.... or can.

I wouldn't suggest going with a cheap slotted rotor. You'd be better off with a quality blank... like a brembo blank.

Pads are a lot of preference and also come down to budget. You want to spent $175 on pads up front or $65?

As for good fluid... get what you want. LOL! I've had people push crazy expensive floods at me for years. I use Valvoline. Never boiled it out. You want to know what I have boiled out and damned near killed myself with... Motul.

Get SS brake lines. Stoptech, goodrich... whatever. Just get them.

If you're going to have a shop install them and that shop can get you what you need... have the shop buy the parts. It'll cost you a few bucks more... so what.

For pads... just don't get a track pad and expect some crap *** rotors to hold up to them. You will destroy your rotors. Pads match rotors. Important.

I agree. But I like them on cars that see the track and the street. But a lot of it depends on driver style and what pads you're running. Some folks have more glazing issues than other.

Street car... don't really need them but they're nice to have. LOL! (I run slotted DBA's but my new set up will be LGT calipers with blanks. )

You can ALWAYS buy stuff online for cheaper than you'll find at a shop. Always. No overhead.

If you're installing it yourself just search around until you find the best price for what you're looking for. Or hit up some local shops and ask if they're doing brake deals. Some of them will do brake deals where they essentially install the crap for free. That's how I got my first brake set up. GST did a deal and I went for it.

But if you have a shop picked out already... have them order it. Just tell them what prices you're seeing and they'll probably be able to get close enough that it's worth it.

+1 to StopTech Street Performance pads. I also run Centric blanks. StopTech rotors are rebranded Centrics, so I'd trust Centric stuff.

TireRack actually had the best price on the pads. Free shipping and no tax, plus most stuff to CA ships from NV, so shipping is quick. Also, threw in ATE TYP 200 since it's pretty well priced too.

Rock Auto has the best prices I could find for centric rotors. They have a coupon always floating around too.
