Yeah, I hate to break it to you, but there are two California's Nor*Cal and So-so-cal. And Bakersfield is most definently in so-cal... Well, there is one caveat, the central valley, it more resembles kansas-iowa-nebraska in world view, politics, and meth consumption!!

 

If you divide the state more or less equally Bakersfield is still Southern California. San Francisco is Central California and everything North of is Northern. I used a ruler so I didn't cheat.

 

and bakersfield falls into the other part

 

I've always considered san luis county as being central california. Everything north from there is norcal and everything south socal.
because two hours north is san jose, and two hours south is santa barbara

 

so cal has hotter chicks look!!!
