Of course not! He just got done reading one of Hearst's headlines "New Drug Lure, Mariyunana (sic) makes dope fiends out of boys in days!"
A picture of him holding a bong is not evidence and an apology through the media is not an admission of guilt.

Because their ratings are in the toilet and for some reason, we love to see our National heroes fall to such things as smoking cannabis.

filing charges? This country needs to decriminalize weed. Start making money off it. I mean hell... I don't and never will smoke it but we do a LOT worse things "legally".

More people die roller skating than they do smoking weed.

Let the guy live his friggin life and leave it alone. ****ing tabloids.

Absolutely ridiculous that this is being made into the biggest deal of 2009 thus far.

Just proof that this is the most social backward and bored police department in the country and have no wish to get off their asses and pursue REAL crimes.

Actually, this state/country IS making money off of weed. Have you seen the statistics for how much tax revenue was paid by Medical Marijuana Clubs last year?

http://stopthedrugwar.org/chronicle/...e_tax_revenues

Of course you are right...the article clearly shows that Cali could be collecting a TON more money if it spent less chasing potheads.

we need to approach it like canada does. Don't make it "legal" but decriminalize it. So instead of putting people in jail that tax payers have to support you give them fines.

helps solve a couple of problems.

then start growing it more widely for more uses. It should replace nearly all of our tree to make paper use along with a lot of other things. It process a ton of C02 and replenishes the soil it uses.

The federal government still spends billions of dollars a year trying to prosecute and end a harmless activity when they could be making billions a year. The only reason the price of pot is so high is becuase of the risk involved in trading it, remove the risk, the price drops which can then be replaced by taxes which will generate revenue. End the war on pot, use it as a revenue maker and then maybe the state and country, might not be in such a bad financial mess.

The only thing I'd like to add to this thread is the fact that Michael Phelps is one FUNNY looking guy. I can't look at him without thinking "Damn, he kind of looks like he's half Predator and half very Caucasian guy... lol

If the Predator's half son wants to smoke out, let him! He earned it, he's f'ing half predator! How can you deny the predator?! Thats why he swims so fast because he's a f'ing alien!

totally agree with everything you say. i dont think anyone wants to say or talk about this, but i think our country is still socially conservative and behind the times. times are changing though and we are currently (finally) in the midst of a secular progressive movement spearheaded by the likes of generation x, y, and i.

this is, of course, a totally different topic though

Whoa! They are trying to press CHARGES!? They can't even prove that was mary jane!

If a picture of one of us surfaced with us smoking like that there's no way anyone could bust us for it... No way in hell! I've seen celebrities on video snorting coke and they don't face charges... Simple fact is they can't prove its coke!

There's no way he could face charges for that... Totally not possible

That settles it. I'm going to take a picture the next time I take a hit and send it to the Richland County Sheriff Department.
