Howard with an Incredible game kept it close - Lots of Chances for USA to tie it up in OT, but USA just couldnt finish.

Safe to say the better team won, great go at it by the US but with the gulf in talent it was always going to be a tough task and honestly a lot of the US players looked dead on their feet from about 30 mins in probably due to the huge effort put forth in the previous games!

The game was going to hinge on timmy's performance, and he knew that. He played fantastic for 90 minutes and then some, but was punished on his only mistake. Notice how much he was cheating to the near post on the first goal.. he's gonna be kicking himself when he sees that.
That being said, you can't win a game relying on your goalkeeper.

I doubt Howard will give a **** about that, given how that play broke out he had to be somewhere and keeping 101 dictates you cover your front stick, I'd imagine he'd have been far more pissed off if he left the front door open and got beaten at his near post.

Don't get me wrong, it's impossible to expect perfection. All I'm saying is that Tim Howard is a wold class keeper, and all keepers are highly critical of themselves. I know I was.

Yea I get that but the point I'm making is he was where he should have been and simply got beaten exactly where he should get beaten really not much any keeper can be pissed off about there other than obviously no keeper wants to get beaten period!

Given the close proximity of the play my assumption would be Howard would play to his near post and his right full back would be tucking in towards the back stick like his life depended on it with the two center backs picking up the forwards coming in to the box, the missing link was the right full back didn't find himself flying through the net!

Super proud of how our team played overall. The games weren't all that pretty, but they competed really well and had good showings against 3 of the world's best teams.

Time for me to shift into Germany mode! Lol
