Larry Bracket out of Novato (or Sonoma) is the lucky man.
At risk of y'all hating me, I actually drove two Carrera GTs in former East Germany last September. Following a pace car at 165 mph down a runway, it was rock steady and not even breaking a sweat. Earlier, homey had been leading me at 150+ mph on tree-lined country roads. And the C-GT as at something like 6-7 tenths while the dude in front was pedalling a 911 Carrera at something like 10 or 11 tenths. Silly. You're heard that said about other cars, but this was otherworldly calm.
Riding in the passenger seat at 209-ish mph (according to a Motec data-acquisition box bolted to the passenger-side floor box) it was deeply impressive. Did that three times, then Rohrl ran up in second gear only a little bit before dropping it in sixth. I thought he was just gonna mosey on back to dump me and pick up the next hack, but he got 185-195 (have to go look at my notes) in the same distance he got 208+ using all the gears to get there.
It's like a big, light carbon tub that flat flies. And handles. And brakes...
SICK. SICK. SICK. SICK. SICK. SICK. (And then there's the sound). REEEEEDICULOUS!
