WOOT... It's PAID OFF!!!
I just made my final payment on my car. It may seem like a small deal to some of you guys and a lot of you pay cash for your cars or pay them off mad quick.
I bought my car in august of 2003. The 04 model had pretty much just hit the showroom. I put a small down payment and got a 100k warranty. I was making pretty good money and was single so I sunk a lot of dough into it the first year and a half and made a few extra payments hoping to pay it off in 3 years or less.
In 05 I switched jobs. Took a 35-40,000 paycut so I could move back home to SC, move on in my career and pursue my relationship with my girlfriend. My new job laid me off a month later. It took me 8 months to get a new job and I BARELY was able to keep my car due to savings and unemployment... and credit.
I got a new job. I'm still making about 30,000-35,000 less than I was so my car is still pretty much the way it was. But I'm married and moving forward.
My car is paid off. It's held together. It's nearly 141,000 miles at the moment. Besides wear and tear items and a few irritating suspension issues it's doing just fine. So it's paid off just in time to break. haaaaa.
Hopefully in the not too distant future the wife's VW will be paid off and gone and we'll be getting her in to one of a few cars... Toyota 4 Runner, Subaru Tribecca, Subaru Forester XT, New WRX. Or maybe an 08 FXT if I can find a manual with low miles or a Legacy GT wagon.
So lord willing my car will hold together for a couple years and I'll either get rid of it and buy a "beater" or build a motorcycle and drive my caddy so the wife can have a new car. Or it'll blow up and I'll be forced to stuff an STI under my wagon. haaaaaa.
Either way. It's been a great car and now it really is MY great car.

SC equals Santa Cruz.
I haven't lived in the other SC since I was in college.
Ryan... you should be proud of yourself bro. most 17 year olds don't even know how to get out of bed on time let alone pay off a car. Well done.

Actually, I joked, too, when my faithful li'l "girl" OFFICIALLY became mine & have had zero worries. With the same luck, your wgn will remain dependable, too.Btw, where's the props to Charlie @Subaru of SC? I doubt that those of us that dealt w/ such a great guy could offer enuff kudos!
Also, in all those numbers you spouted off, what's the tally on tickets?!?

Woot! Woot! for you once again, man.

Ticket Tally, not too sure actually.
I think I got a couple parking tickets. A fix it ticket for my tires and my license plate. Then another for my plate and a busted windshield. I got puled over on 4 for speeding, unsafe/illegal pass, tail gating and wreckless driving but the officer cut me some slack and only gave me the speeding and the pass. And I think maybe one other speeding ticket.
Not sure actually. I've mellowed out a lot. I try to be a courteous driver.
