****...that sucks but i guess things couldve been worse...like waking up and finding that your car is gone...that happened to me with my integra =/
was your car parked on your driveway or on the street? Awhile back ago my rear bumper got scratched up and later found out my wife accidently hit my car with her car.....

i've had hit and run twice, one top the front right pass door was all smashed up, happened at pier 4 at sf and the 2nd time was near concord bart station where my rear left door was smashed up. both times, taken care of farmers insurance, yay. it was all bad when i took it for trade in when i wanted to get my sti..."has it been bondoed?...ummm yeah"...offered me $1000. then i sold it to a older asian lady for $4500 and she was cool with it ^_^
btw, it was a 03 elantra.

The 2nd week I got my car, i was hit in run on my passenger side in the SJSU parking garage. A dent with lots of paint transfer but its barely noticeable now. Wish it was the case for you.. your car is nice!
You should go look around for a black car (prob an SUV) with lots of front bumper paint missing. Nobody should be able to get away with that much damage. If it was in front of your house.. it was probably one of your neighbors.
