windshield material?

hi guys,

I'm about to replace my windshield soon. I know this topic has been covered many times. I did a search on windshield material, didn't find anything related.
i'm considering either safelite or low price auto glass. I asked them about the material, Safelite=oem(220), low price autoglass=aftermarket(180)?

I'm not so sure if i wanna get another oem quality glass because mine was cracked less than a month after i bought the car -.-!!

Is there any place that sell windshield made in stronger material?or just take the cheaper deal?
btw,i'm a noob on windshield materials? Can i get some infos?

THanks

Aftermarket windshields are almost always a thinner material than the OEM's. I would go with Safelite as their windshields are manufacured to OEM specs.

Thumbs up

I just had my windshield replace by a private party 2 weeks ago. He did a very good job. Used a brand new windshield, will drive anywhere in the Bay area ( i assume)
Let me know if u want his number. I paid like $170 for everything.

Slight hijack, but is Safelite basically the same as polycarbonate?
