Terrible way to see a KingAir go (assumed it was due to the twin turbo-props and t-tail, don't know anything about this) but to be fair that was probably the most excitement that drag strip has ever seen.

Yes, that is true. I could not imagine anyone surviving that, have to look it up now.

My pops had a plaque on the panel of the last 172 he had that said "Maintain thine airspeed lest the Earth rise up and smite thee" but I think that came from somewhere (he didn't make it up is what I mean).

Just found some info on it, though there is not much as it's still under investigation. From what I read it sounded like the PIC requested a go-around at a nearby strip, then did something silly to show off for a friend who runs the drag strip, then boom. Doesn't sound good.
