Will I fail smog with Defi gauges?

I have the 3 pod Defi gauges - Boost, EGT and Oil Temp...am I going to fail smog? I modified my car while in Florida (where I bought it), then shipped it over, and I'm already having to take off my Turboback Exhaust and Cold Air Intake, but do I have to take off my freaking gauges too?

you don't have to remove your turbo back, only the downpipe and put a stock one in. As to your CAI, if it is a AEM or K&N then its CARB/BAR legal in CA.

Usually you're fine. They asked me about my oil tap and i said it was an oil pressure gauge and they were fine with it. Just no catch cans.

Smog places don't care about your cat back or gauges. Your down pipe will fail the visual though. I would definitely swap that out with the stock.

Some places will give you stress about an EGT because it requires tampering with exhaust between the engine and catalyst. Mine is currently unplugged because of this.

Also add the cobb intake is carb legal,I have the factory 3 gauge setup and he did not even care about it but have heard of some people running into issues as for the check on exhaust and downpipe now that is the big one.I just did smog and the tech looked with mirrors first then got under the car to look at everything he really payed extra attention to the downpipe.

Fair enough, haha... I've never had an issue with my EGT but you're right, It really depends on the shop and whoever is inspecting

Hopefully you didn't pay for that.

If I got sent away from a smog place for my intake with a sticker on it I'd tell them to **** off. Ain't paying for that isht.

I've been through the state ref with a heck of a lot more than an intake.

I have the same exact gauge setup as you and I've passed smog every time. Not once was I ever asked about my gauges. They mainly look at your downpipe and if you have an intake, the carb sticker on it.

I just passed with this christmas tree, not even a comment.

Stock DP & CARB sticker on the intake FTW, the guy was all over the engine bay & underside with a torch. The presence of a Flexfuel badge on the back, and lack of the sticker below on my Seibon hood caused a bit of a 'moment', thank god i had a picture handy to convince him it was a gasoline car & was legit
