Will 245/40/17's with 48mm offset rub. . .
. . .on either the struts, or wheel wells,. I not worried about the lip cause I can roll them.
I think I should be good, but was wondering if any one has a similar set up?
I have an 02 sedan with AGX w/Prodrives Springs.
Thanks!

I have 235/45s on my 46mm offset 17x8 TE37s. These are Kumho MXs which have about 5mm more total width than most tires of the same size. That they have a softer edge (at the sidewall and tread) than the Yoks I guess help to keep them from rubbing. I just got them put on about 50 miles ago and haven't really worked them yet, but they feel OK so far. My concern has always been the distance between the sidewall and the rear struts. With the Yoks it was maybe 5mm clearance at best. I need to stick my hand up there and feel, but by what Luke @ TIrerack said with the 5mm difference, there should only be barely over 2mm clearance now... yikes! But damn, those tires look wide and feel great!

Clearance in back will depend more on your alignment settings (specifically, camber) than anything else.
This past weekend, confirmed that 17x8" Torques (+48mm offset) with 235/40R17 Hankooks clear on my 02 wagon
. These are Zoeb's old wheels BTW. However it should be noted I have rolled the rear fenders AND am running less than stock negative camber (approx -0.5° via camber bolts, stock is anywhere between -1° to -2° and not adjustable). I had somewhere between 5 and 10 mm to the strut (STI struts). With stock alignment in back, clearance would have been somewhat less than that....possibly NOT clearing.
After what I found out.....I see some new autocross wheels with 235/40R17s in my very near future
