Will 05 STi rear bumper fit in a 02 WRX?

I got rear ended the other day and now I am in need of a new rear bumper.

I have a guy that can sell me a 05 STi rear bumper and tail lights.
Will they bolt right up into my 02 WRX?
Will it look like it was OEM?

I like the 04/05 tail lights, and since I'm in need of a new bumper, I might as well get the bumper and tail lights together.

TIA for any input.

It should bolt up just fine. It wont look OEM because, well, its not for your car. It wont look insanely wrong, however.

Why would you want to do that?

Yes it will work, but you will need those side pieces that go over the rear wheel arches or else it'll look weird.

I wanted to get the 05 STi rear bumper because the guy has both the tail lights and rear bumper for cheap if bought together.

I don't really know the difference between bumpers from each year.
That is why I'm asking in this thread before I buy.

It seems like the 05 STi bumper will look weird without the fender flair part?

What about an 04/05 WRX bumper?

To me, the 02-03 bumper looks better than the more curvaceous 04+ bumper. Plus the taillights look less ricey. But that's just me.

There is a guy on NASIOC with a yellow '02. He did an '05 STi rear bumper, '05 tails, rear fender flares, and the '06 window spoiler. It looks tight and all fits perfectly. He just needed to drill the holes to accept the fender flares.

So with new tails and fender flares, it will look like it was stock if you take your time and do it right.

The 05 Sti rear bumper does loook better, and I like the tail lights.

Should I ask the Seller for the fender flares as well?

Is it pretty easy to install?

Just drill a hole and pop it in?
