The Wife Represents....!!!
So my wife took our new WRB 04 WRX Sedan out this weekend to the Golden Gate Bridge to take some pictures (nice day).
This guy walks up and says "Is that hood scoop for real?"
My wife says "Yeah it is for the intercooler”
The Guy says: “You mean the radiator!”
My wife: “No, the intercooler that charges the outside air from the turbo into the engine. The colder the air, the denser! Thus more air is able to fill in the same volume. The hood scoop pulls cooler outside air over the intercooler to keep it cool from the radiated heat from the pipes and engine and any heat soak. Any other questions?”
My wife told me the guy said: “Ah no.” and walked off a little stunned.
(Note: My wife speaks very fast and clearly. When she gets rolling – you can’t get a word in. She also hates people that belittle her. At 5”11” (if she wasn’t pregnant) with strong arms and a reach, she would have been tempted to through down with that fool. She did once in Mexico. That was a pretty funny site to see her clocked some fool that tried grabbing her. )
My wife was a dive instructor in Grand Cayman and understands the concepts of compressed air and temp. The intercooler made a lot of sense to her when she was asking the dealership about it. She comes from a family who own a couple of Porches and she enjoys F1, WRC, and sports car racing. She loves cars and knows quite a bit about them.
It is great to have a wife that knows her stuff.
I hate it when someone thinks just because a woman is driving that she doesn’t know ****.
I would bet that my wife knows more about engines then the dork that was trying to make fun of her.
It would have been way funny if my wife was Shirley Muldowney. After she skooled the fool, she would offer her autograph.
