Why is a boxer engine bad for emissions and fuel economy? Too heavy vs equivalent i4?

we will see in about 3 years. i don't know if they will sell with non-awd/boxer. subaru owners buy subaru is because the engine and awd. or else i would get a honda.

I dunno for sure. I know AWD isn't the best when it comes to fuel economy, but past that couldn't tell you much.

they watered down the WRX because they wanted to appeal to the more general public, rather than appeal to those who already have a subaru

Not to mention, the government is forcing certain fuel economy levels on average for car makers as well as certain percentages of alternative fuel vehicles. Subaru is well below what they want right now.

Doesn't mean the other stuff is gonna go away. Just means it won't be as good....focus to spread out. Their AWD has been the best because it's what they do.

It's gonna be a whole new breed of ricer boy in a FWD 2.5i Impreza.....


My opinion is they should be exploring the turbo charged hybrid and diesel arenas.

I agree. But not with toyota hanging around. It's gonna be underpowered FWD.
