Angry Why do ppl TAILGATE?!

So,since i got my wrx. I've noticed that I'm being tailgate almost everyday!!
I obey speed limit on local, always singnal, and do like 75~80 on hwys. I just don't get it, why these ppl must tailgate me so close when I obey the traffic laws. It's like right up in my AXX,so close that i can barely see their headlights. Anyone have this problem?

Maybe they're just on the fast way, move aside so they don't rear end you. Even if it's their fault going through all the hassle is annoying.

I only tailgate people when they are in the fast lane going slow, and there is now one in front of them.

+1. Other than that, it could only be because they have not yet been properly brake-checked. Very important for SUV drivers. Those lights slam down a good foot!

Maybe you shouldn't be going slow in the fast lane?

Get a loud exhaust, they'll quit tailgating or get a flame attachement for your exhaust, it's amazing how much space people give me after installing an injector on my exhaust.

it happens from time to time...people just being idiots. Like tailgating in traffic when there is clearly no way you could go any faster.

But the way I see it...I don't care if I'm goin 90-100mph. If someone is coming up on me...I'll move out of the way. Generally before they get a chance to jump on my bumper. I expect the same. When drivers are aware of their surroundings....use their mirrors. They should see you coming. And move.

I get very frustrated when I come up on people. I'll usually come up enough that they'll see me and know I want to go faster. Chill for a second. Give them a flash or two. Then go around. I hate going around people on the inside...it's just not safe.

I don't care what speed you're going...if theirs space in front of you and they want to go faster. Let them go.

some people just don't realize that they're tailgating. to them, they're [overly]confident in their braking ability....they're more concerned with other drivers "cutting in line" right in front of them than they are with safety.

i was in the car with an old HS buddy this one time...he was driving. this old lady was clearly tailgating us and we were on a 50mph road. the oncoming light turned red well ahead of us, so instead of hitting the brakes to slow down, he kept cruising til we got closer. at a couple hundred feet from the light, he STOMPED on the brakes -- ABS kicked in, the nose dived, and the car scurried to a stop. then we heard the lady's brakes lock up, tires screeching, car sliding, and eventually coming to a complete stop behind us but in the shoulder of the road! you should've seen her face!!! her poodle that had its head sticking out the window was no longer there and she had that "oh sh*t" look on her face. when the light turned green again, she kept 50 yards of distance b/t our cars....hahaha.

i thought my friend was crazy and told him to tell me if he's gonna pull stupid crap like that again. then we both laughed our ***** off. lol.

Only time I tailgate is when it's a merge lane, I let 1 and only one person in front of me and I will **** block the hell out of someone that tries to sneak in.

If someone tailgates me in the fast lane I probably deserve it.

If someone tailgates me in lane 3 or even 4, then they're asswipes.

If a tailgater pisses me off, I give'em the good ol' brake check. If he doesn't let off, I give a quick brake jam. Usually solves the problem by then
