Mine burns oil sometimes, definitely not consistently over 1 oil change period. Just put 1K miles on it in just a few days and it burned none at all with 147K on the clock. High mileage synthetic isn't going to stop it from burning that much IMO, if it is burning it rather than minor leaks (both can be common at that mileage) Which oil?

 

My 05 FXT has burned about a quart every 4-5k miles since the day I purchased her. I don't think this is unusual with these engines.

 

Not unusual over 100K, but that doesn't mean "normal". My WRX ate oil when I bought it and after a bunch of seal replacements and normal maintenance it didn't.
