My dad got busted in my car (****in' retarded, I didn't even have my borla for a week) but anyways, it's pricey, but 'cause I got it smogged and returned it to stock it was only 10 bux for all fix its.

Rossette in Fremont = not gonna get away with anything.

He's pretty bad against imports, but he pulls anyone for anything. A guy on another forum got pulled in a jeep and he tried to cite him for no mud flaps... WTF.. retarded, stay away from California if you're running catless =). Saves hassle, saves labor, saves money. Or if you REALLY want to go fast... just get a Bike.. I got my M1 already =P

I've been running catless for the past 2 years. I get pulled over all the time, but never gotten cited.

But if you do get a ticket, depending on where you get it, you'll most likely get sent to a state ref to get a smog in 24 hours. fail that, you pay a huge fine.

Not tryin' to blow your bubble, but coming from someone who hasn't gotten a ticket to a state ref, your information is incorrect. If they cite you for no cats, you WILL have to take it to a state ref. From my experience at Sequoia where the local state ref was, they wanted to test my car as it was when I got cited. Then tell me what to fix on it, and after I fixed it, I'd have to go back to them to get it signed off.

I just put back the stock cat back in there so I skipped the fixing process. However if you do have real questions about the Noise levels and dB, I'd suggest taking your car as it is, and get a dB test and if it is under dB's, then tell them to give you a sticker or something signed by the state ref that it meets requirements, so you have something against a cop who says "your exhaust is too loud". And I forgot what they plug into a special electrical outlet, but they plug something electrical to take readings of o2 levels I guess on a machine and test it at different RPMS. Because our cars are AWD they had to run a certain test outside of the garage, because the dyno is only built for 2 wheel drive cars.

If you fail to fix the emissions (which you'd be an idiot to do) yes you'd have to pay a huge fine, but it's just easy to swap out and put your cats back in.

There is also a visual inspection. I didn't have the "snorkle" in, so I just put the plastic cover thing on top, (not the end through the bumper 'cause that's just a pain in the ***), and because it was one of their first subarus they really didn't notice it didn't go into the bumper either. Anything that has a different color than black or metal (Ie purple, blue, red) whatever the hell else modded things go in a car will fail your visual.

Process took about 2 hours, and that was fast because he had students running tests while he was doing the paper work (the students didn't know **** at the time, so that's how I passed visual easy). Paperwork will keep you there the longest.

It was about $40.00 for running tests and whatnot.
