You don't need an impact gun, just a good breaker bar that's 2 feet long and about... oh... 150 lbs. That's what I used...

Apparently you have some crappy sockets. I used impact sockets, not those chrome-ish pieces of crap.

Spray the bolts with liquid wrench and let them sit for a few minutes, then use a breaker bar w/ brand name sockets to get them off.

i live in fairfield, im about 45 mins from fremont. i used some liquid wrench on it the other day, im going to go buy a bit and give it another shot. damn things are tight.

Im used to my old honda where everything is to loose to drive. everything on the subaru is exactly the opposite!!!

i have a tool that has a 3/4 socket end on it. it will accept normal sockets but it doesnt spin like a regular ratchet.

all i use it for is to break stuff loose. i has like a 1.5" handle...

and if i'm too lazy to break out the air impact, i just slide a longer piece of pipe on it...

Don't feel bad man, I had to use an impact wrench on mine too. I sprayed them with WD40 and let them sit for about 5 minutes then gave them hell.

my impact gun is my tool that I always use. I never realize how tight those bolts were until Ian (yaitzian) told me...
If I was closer to you I'd help you out. Just do the methods already posted.

I've done mine and my friend Onemanarmy with just liquid wrench and an 18 inch breaker bar. His were worse than mine to loosen, but we accomplished it. Pushing with 250 lbs can break most bolts loose.

we had an electric impact rated at 140ft-lbs but didnt do the trick. We had a 2ft breaker bar (torque wrench =P) instead
