-Rolls Royce

Daimler/Chrysler owns:
-AMC (brand discontinued -- Chrysler bought AMC primarily for the Jeep brand which was owned by AMC)
-Chrysler
-Dodge
-Eagle (brand discontinued)
-Hyundai (Daimler/Chrysler only owns 10% --13 May 04 changes!)

-Plymouth (brand discontinued)

i thought ford owned more of mazda? ... how much do u have to own to have input into the ar making process?

Toyota only owns just under 10% of FHI. GM sold off their 20%, but Toyota only bought 8-9%

There is a wierd thing in Japanese law that says all publically help incorportated businesses need a 2/3 majority to do act. Which basically means if you own 1/3 or more of a company, you can stonewall them at your will. Having 33% basically gives Ford control of the board as they can effectively veto anything they don't want. In Mazda's case, I think the next largest stake holder is only like 8% or something.
