who here dirtbikes? ..i have an idea

so i was thinking when i saw a rebuild thread about sti struts and their clunking 'non-sense' ..well in the thread(correct me if im wrong) i read they say that it happens from dirt getting into the seal..if this is so i have an idea of using what i use on my dirtbike. Seal Savers! i haven't changed my fork seals for almost 2 years because of them. so why not replace that useless boot (or keep it for the shafts sake ) with a seal saver? someone tell me if i sound like an idiot, but since my sti struts are clunking and im too broke too buy new ones why not give this a try after i clean and re-grease mine..

I think the clunking issue is due to the strut binding up,and is fixed by lubing it I think. Seal saver might work after the initial service to keep grime out but the amount of times the strut goes up and down the stock ones will continue to do this over time.I could be wronrg someone correct me.
