Question Who has a connection for a windshield in the Northbay (Santa Rosa)?

I just recieved a quote for $390 for my 06 wrx TR. They also replace the moldings. Has anyone found a place much cheaper (less than $200)? Was leaning towards PPG glass. That 101 project in Santa Rosa is costing me, had to replace one in my 4runner last year and now my suby.

thanks

I've also got two windshields that need replacing. When I was living in the east bay there was a company that would come out to meets and do it while you waited. They were $175. Not the OEM glass, but with the way I go through windshields, it didn't bother me. I haven't really checked up here since I moved so let me know what you find.

Maybe try to get the city of Santa Rosa to cover it? If it was caused by poor road conditions, they're technically responsible.

I need a new windshield as well

I would try, but it would be a long shot for them to do anything.

thanks

Seriously. The time it would take to even investigate the possibility of the city taking responsibility wouldn't even be worth it.

I've heard of people getting repairs from the city before. I haven't done so myself so I don't really know whats involved or how long it would take. Of course most bureaucracy takes a while, so I wouldn't surprised.

Maybe we can get a group-by on some windshields?

I had the windshield on my Forester replaced a couple of months ago. I opted for an OEM replacement, mostly because of some bad things I've heard about PPG windshields (distorted glass, misalignment due to aftermarket windshields not having alignment pins like OEM). It wasn't cheap, but hopefully it'll last a while.

I will mention group buy or some kind of forum deal.

I just got off the phone with Reliable and was quoted $280 with PPG and Subaru oem moldings. They are willing to discount if I can get 2-3 more impreza's.

This is in Dublin, CA (right behind Dublin Honda). When I was shopping around I found them to be the Cheapest place for the Windshield (it was just above $200 with new molding out the door).

Low Price Auto Glass - http://www.lowpriceautoglassdublin.com/

I realize you are looking in Santa Rosa, but they did a quality job on my car when I had my '03 WRX Windshield replaced.

I know there are people that also go through some of the Mobile Windshield Repair Places (like Don's Mobile - http://www.donsmobileglass.com/locations_dublin.html ), but I am not sure how much they are.

I need to replace mine too...have you contact your insurance agent? I remember, when I had to replace my passenger side window, my insurance covered half of the cost.

for my windsheild connection, i just went straight to the backdoor at the window shop, skipped all middlemen, and got me some windsheild glue. A great connection, hasn't flew off braking from 100-0 yet.

I did try that before on another car, but used JB weld, held on pretty good.
