From Dictionary.com:

caravan

"A company of travelers, pilgrims, or merchants, organized and equipped for a long journey, or marching or traveling together, esp. through deserts and countries infested by robbers or hostile tribes, as in Asia or Africa."

That pretty much sums up the experience of driving to Mt Hammy.

I think we had one of the smallest caravans, just two cars, consisting of BAN SUVS and me. It's awfully lonely out there on Hwy 80 at 6:15 in the morning. We wanted to get a good parking spot.
