Who goes to HK all the time?

Question for you folks that fly to HK all the time... I am planning on going back to HK some time end of this year. I don't have set dates and it doesn't matter that much. Which month is the cheapest month to go? Which DAY of the week is the cheapest way to fly to and back? Thanks a bunch!

Fly Monday to Thursday, it's cheaper than Friday & Saturday (not sure about Sunday). Also, prices get higher after Dec 10 or so, when all the kids in school and college students return for X'mas. So if you have a flexible schedule, you can save some money by flying weekday and leave before mid-Dec.

Oh, and get quotes from some travel agents in Asian / Chinese malls. My experience is that they always have better prices than what you can get online for HK tickets.

Fly SFO. There's no direct flight from SJC, and flying from SJC isn't cheaper than SFO.

thanks! i did call my travel agent (chinese) and she told me setp-nov are pretty cheap. and as far as flying day of the week, probably only make about $25 difference. She recommended me to get some packages with 2-3 nights hotels free. but unfortunately they only have packages up to aug right now. I'll just have to call back in july.

thanks for the info, I think I can expect $750 per person around that time not including hotel. man, last time I went back was during 911 and I think the flight was only ~$650 or so. Oh well...

if you guys know of any other good travel deals to HK for towards the end of the year, please let me know.

$750 per person is not bad. I think the weekend surcharge is like $25 one way, so if your departure and return flights are both on weekend days, it'll add up to $50.

Also yes, the hotel package deals are great if you need some place to stay while in HK!

you are most likely right. and I'll be going with my fiancee, so that'll be $100 over... good thing I don't have a set date. I'll just call around that time and find the cheapest I can get. I think I'll just go through my travel agent again. I was thinking of going through orbitz or something like that at first (that's why I was asking).

thanks again!
