The "friends and family" discount at borrow lenses isn't that substantial, you're better off booking the lens now before it gets snatched up for the holidays (if it hasn't already) rather than waiting for the member to come forward (EDIT: HE just did, nevermind
).
There is also Keeble and Shucat in Palo Alto. Supposedly they have cheaper prices, but their pricing/rental duration was thought up by a drunk Canadian. 1 day = 3 days, 4 days = 6 or something retarded like that. Also, they are complete *******s there. Even if they did carry Sony stuff I'd go to BL over them.
