Who bets on Basketball Games?

My friend got me betting in Basketball games and today I lost. Does anyone bet on the games? Give me some pointers! I get all excited and such so I think its pretty cool. I use to gamble a lot at Cache Creek but now its 21+ and I can't go there anymore.

Not to brag..

I used to play pot limit and no limit hold em, and have played with Sammy Farha and Amir Vaheedi (sp)
They both are broke as dogs, Amir even after winning millions lost it all and borrows cash from his g/f.

Don't gamble its dangerous,
although it did pay for an ECUTEK for me>

I don't like teh gambling. It makes me feel really horrible when I lose and it's not ALL that fun. I'd rather spend $100 on a night out with my gf or my friends than pissing it away on a game or chance..

at least if I spend $100 out with the gf it's GAURANTEED I'll win at the end of the night

Don't gamble its dangerous,
I've been around a cardhouse/hold'em table or two in my time and WERD on the last comment.

Like stocks, which IS gambling anyways, only play w/what you can afford to lose.....meaning bring to the casino/table ONLY what $$$ you would not be at all hurt by losing (financially...emotionally is another issue!)

having said that....i don't bet on basketball or any other sports. I only stick to wagering that I have some signficant control over, like Hold 'Em!

I have given up on sports gambling, fantasy football/basketball is about it. gambling on sports took the fun out of the game for me. the other reason why I don't gamble that much any more is that I used to work for a bookie and made good money but at teh same time saw lots of people go broke.

now i just enjoy the occasional game of hold em.
