Where to work on my car in SF

Is there any place in SF to go work on one's car? I live in an appartment and can't be draining oil, etc, in the garage or on the street :-)

What do all you apartment dwellers do?

Joel

Get a Fumoto Valve. Simply reach under there with a hand, open the valve, drain it into your oil pan, close the valve, then fill with oil for a 5 minute change.

They pay people like Jiffy Lube or use a friend's garage space.

I've been wondering if it's a viable business to "rent garage space with a lift". I don't think it is. People will not be willing to pay for the time it takes them to work on their car and the liability of stupid people f'ing up and injuring themselves on the property just isn't worth it.

You would need to rent a garage and supply your own tools, etc. You will find it's cheaper to pay a place to do your oil change though.

Have an "Install Fest!" at one of your friend's cribs, I'm sure another 10 subies'll show up wantin' to get somethin' done!

Then throw in the beer, bbq... uhh hot girls?
And you will have more subies show up

Yeah, the oil change in and of itself would not make sense if I have to rent space. I'm thinking of more than just that, though. I'd love to try a home alignment, and eventually I intend to put on a bar or two.

Thanks for the replies.

If you can afford that, then you can afford the drive up to my house.

I've got ramps, tools, more tools, jacks, jackstands, and access to anything in the way of technical information that I could ever need.
