Where to rent an outback?

I have a family member who is thinking of buying an outback, but cant make up his mind. I suggested he rent one for a week and test it out, but he cant find a rental with outbacks in stock. Anyone know of one in the area?

See if you can get an extended test drive with a dealer?

Good luck with an extended test drive. With the situation in Japan and cars being in short supply it's going to be hard to convince a dealer to let that happen. You should see the lot here right now... practically a ghost town.

Wow, and that sucks for Subaru since Subaru of America has been on a positive roll in terms of sales numbers...

But wow, not many companies rent out Subarus huh? Damn...

the companies all did an inventory check that included the entire region, nothing came up. I thought this would be easier to do, but no such luck.

I think it has a lot to do with where you are, here in the bay area you are kind of unlikely to find a Subaru in a rental inventory, but I'd bet in Denver or Salt Lake it'd probably be a lot easier to rent one.
