Where are the HPDE at Altimont?

I see Thunderhill, Laguna Seca, and Infineon raceway... how come there aren't events at Altimont raceway?

Are there any other tracks "IN the bay area"?

because their "road course" sucks *****. watch that outdoor channel and watch the truck series that is there and you will see how small that place is.

Then make it a cheap HPDE. I'd still like a place to drive my car in a high perf enviro. Altimont just happens to geographically be the most accessible to me. The thing that bugs me about autox is you get 5 minutes of driving time (ok, maybe 10 if you get fun runs) for 6 hours of being there. Lots more seat time in HPDE's.

you probably reach higher top speeds on an autocross than you can on the altamont track

Howcome everyone complains about altamont, and nobody complains about FLAT AUTOXS! blehh autoXs are getting boring, i need some edges on a track without cones telling me where to go. altomont is nothing more than the slaying grounds for the 2.5 RS's to all the WRXs and STi's

bwwahahahaahaa! BWAHHHHHHHHAHAA But you guys wouldnt do an altamont track day for $50? i would, its not soooo bad, some off camber and challenging sections. It would make a dream autoX

the altamont rallyx was a blast but then they had to go and pave the whole place... I would pay $50 for some fun out there.

Talk to them - you never know. The new owners would be happy to get new people out there. They even called us up (RallyCross) and said they wanted us back and we could cover all the infield track sections with dirt to make it happen. It's fun playin' with tractors and all, but that's a bit more work than we were interested in.
